The quest to unite a passionate football planet. Football is a game of scoring between two sticks: a game which unites every possible human experience into ninety minutes. It is a game that unites and divides nations, cities, friendships; where supporters follow their heroes on the pitch; the heroes that capture the hearts and minds of millions and millions around the globe.

Football+ is born out of this passion, devotion, obsession. Like nothing else, football has a following that reaches into the far out corners of the world. With Football+, we can unite this following into a global community.

What is Football+ exactly?

New technologies on the internet have led to the advent of many social networking and Web 2.0 websites, for example, Facebook, Digg, Twitter and Flickr. Football+ combines the best of these and adds the flavour of football, creating a universal network that gives all fans a place to debate and discuss football.

But why limit ourselves to social networking? Fans have long lacked a true database of football players. A statistical and fan-based ratings system of the world’s best players would be a groundbreaking venture.

Football for Good

In a world where possibilities like this exist, it’s sad to say that millions and millions don’t have food to eat and a place to sleep. A global community like the one Football+ has the power to create has the power to make a difference to the shocking living conditions of Third World countries. Football+ would also launch freeKick, a program to help change the lives of the poorer, and create a change in the world. But this is only possible if Football+ gets off the ground.

Who is behind Football+?

Let me introduce myself. My name is Tim Palmer. I am from Sydney, Australia, and football is in my blood. I have been a keen Chelsea supporter since I began to walk, and play at an amateur level twice a week. I truly believe soccer has the power to change the world. And I believe Football+ is possible. All I need is help to get it started.

I am only sixteen, but I am determined not to let my age stop me from achieving my goals. Although I realise this is hugely off putting, I really do feel passionately for the Football+ project and would love to bring it to fruition.

Where do you come in?

Be a part of something big. Junp on board the Football+ project and let’s bring it to life. At present the major hurdle is the funding. Due to my age any sort of monetary input is pretty much zilch, but that’s where you can come in. The aim of Football+ is to be a non-for-profit startup and so in this nature all those behind the project will give their own time and effort out of the goodwill of their own hearts. And as they say, many hands make light work. But the joy of bringing together Football+, uniting the world through one love, and being part of something that’s setting out to change the world. Isn’t that the real payment?
